Web Content Vacancy

This is a superb opportunity to apply your creative skills, producing compelling content, and editing and optimising for SEO. This company sells a broad range of yachts, motor boats and related services so knowledge of the leisure marine industry is desirable although not essential.

This Web Content role will be the single point of control for all web content across the entire digital portfolio. You will be passionate about content quality and search engine optimization. You will have to create as well as collate content from a variety of sources across the business while ensuring the implementation of current SEO practices.

Ideally you will have experience of copywriting for creative combined with a detail oriented approach with a thorough track record of proofreading and attention to detail. You will also have a proven track record of content managing multiple websites (at least three) and experience of working with agencies and a variety of internal departments.


You will be responsible for creating exciting and engaging web content. You will look to improve all areas of the group sites, social media channels, banner inventory, email newsletters etc.

You should be highly organised, capable of multi-tasking and with a strong desire to learn! Ideally working in an online marketing role now, it is essential that you have good experience in producing engaging web content as well as an eye for web design, empathy for user experience and very strong copywriting skills.

You will need to be an independent worker, confident pursuing your own ideas but capable of working well with others in a team environment. You will be expected to manage several projects at once and above all ensure that the quality of all content is exemplary across a number of sites. Your passion for websites and ability to deliver strong, relevant content that offers real commercial benefit is key.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Recommend, influence and create copy that reflects the brand values and meets the marketing objectives of each department for use both online and offline.
  • Generate copy that adheres to the best practice of on-line copy writing.
  • Ensure latest and upcoming group activity is proactively communicated through on-line content.
  • Work with multiple sources to develop optimised content for the Groups’ websites.
  • Use the content management system to upload and optimise all content.
  • Keyword research.
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of relevant website content.
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of all social media activity.
  • Responsible for the content, schedule and delivery of all email newsletters.
  • Identify and feedback latest on-line trends to influence direction of content across the Group.
  • Occasionally work with external digital agencies.

Experience required:

  • Experience using Content Management Systems.
  • Previous experience in compelling Online Content Creation and Content Editing.
  • Experience of blogging within a commercial environment.
  • Experience in Product driven Content Creation is beneficial.
  • Marketing and Web Copywriting experience.
  • Experience of building groups on social networking sites.
  • Experience of email marketing.

Person Specification:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Good understanding of current SEO techniques and keyword optimisation
  • Strong and accurate writing skills
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint,
  • Excellent command of English
  • Strong communication skills both written/verbal and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision is essential for this position.
